The National Museum of China
The National Museum of China is a comprehensive museum that focuses on history and art. The museum methodically displays China's long-standing cultural history.
The museum has a substantial collection of cultural relics, which are used for archaeological studies, collections and research. These methodically collected cultural relics of past dynasties reflect China's past and present. They are displayed in various exhibits, so visitors can recognize China's great historical progress - and its distinct culture.

China Military Museum
The China Military Museum is grand, towering and spectacular. Each display has its own individual theme, however, the museum's focal point is China's military history. The displays include China's important military events, characters, treaties, technologies and ordnance development. Also on display are China's recent military achievements. The museum is one of the 10 biggest military museums in the world.

Beijing Museum of Natural History
The Beijing Museum of Natural History has an extensive collection of cultural relics, fossils and samples of specimens, which, combined, is about 100,000 pieces. The museum has the world's second-largest fossil collection of large, prehistoric mammals. The museum is divided into the animal section, plant section, prehistoric life section, origins of mankind section, and dinosaur section. Combined, the sections present visitors with a wide spectrum of information regarding nature and science.

Zhoukoudian Ruins Museum
The living conditions and environments during the eras of Peking Man, cavemen and the upper cavemen are explained in detail. The timeline hallway highlights the continual changes in the area surrounding Zhoukoudian during a 300-million-year period. On display at the other exhibits are Peking Man's cranium fossil, a habitat, fossilized ruins, fossils of prehistoric men from China and the world, and art carvings.

- Directions: Take bus 616, 917 or 922 and get off at Liangxiangximen Station. Then, take Bus Huanxian 2 and get off at Zhoukoudian Peking Man Museum Station

Chinese Science and Technology Museum
The Chinese Science and Technology Museum is divided into the following sections: The main hall (Exhibit Hall A); the panoramic theater (Exhibit Hall B); and the children's science fair (Exhibit Hall C).
The main attractions - industrial technology and science and technology from China's past - are in Exhibit Hall A. While watching a film in the panoramic theater, one will be consumed by the surrounding image, as its effects are extremely realistic. Everything from the teaching of morality and academic education to physical education and aesthetic education are highlighted in the children's science fair, which is suitable for children aged three to 10.

National Art Museum of China
The National Art Museum of China, which is the biggest art museum in the country, primarily researches, collects and exhibits modern Chinese art.
Various types of art are exhibited in the museum, which has painting exhibits of individual artists, film exhibits, calligraphy exhibits, children's painting exhibits, and the folk art exhibit, which is one of the most popular displays. Since the 1980s, hundreds of exhibits from abroad - including France, the United States, Japan, Russia, Greece and South Korea - have been held in the museum.

China Red Sandalwood Museum
The China Red Sandalwood Museum is the first, and biggest, special-theme museum in the country operated by local residents. The museum collects, studies, and displays red sandalwood art and traditional Chinese furniture.
Here, one can appreciate the charm of traditional furniture, the traditional furniture from the Ming and Qing dynasties, and China's ever-declining traditional architectural sights. The fine, ingenious designs of red sandalwood art have reproduced the splendor and magnificence of China's traditional furniture.

- Directions: Take bus 312 or 728 and get off at Gaobeidian Station; take Subway Line 1 and get off at Sihuidong Station, and proceed east about 500 meters; or take the metro train and get off at Gaobeidian Station, Proceed south about 100 meters

Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall
Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall is commonly referred to as the education platform for Chinese patriots. The museum is approximately 16,000 square meters, and the display area is about 8,000 square meters. The museum has displays of Beijing's long-standing history, Olympic stadium planning, and blueprints for transportation reform. The museum is a place of deep cultural history, expressed in an original, and simple, way.

Beijing Museum
The new Beijing Museum is located at the southwest corner of Baiyun Crossroad, which is the western extension of Chang'an Avenue. On display are 5,622 pieces of great historical and artistic value, which have been selected from more than 200,000 items. Eighty percent of these pieces are being displayed for the first time. Visitors will be charmed by the large number of pieces on exhibit, the new facilities and the high quality of service.
